Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday paid heartfelt tribute to former Governor Lalji Tandon on his 90th birth anniversary, commending his integrity and commitment to constitutional duties during his tenure in Bhopal and Patna.
Speaking at a public gathering, the CM said, “Whether in Bhopal or Patna, Lalji Tandon discharged his constitutional responsibilities with full honesty and always maintained warm relations with both the public and political parties. His efforts to connect people with governance through the ‘Raj Bhavan Janata ke Dwar’ campaign strengthened the system.”
Yogi Adityanath assured the Tandon family of the party’s unwavering support and emphasized that the people of Lucknow stand with them in remembrance of the late leader. Tandon, a veteran BJP leader from the Vajpayee-Advani era, passed away in 2020. He was sworn in as Governor of Madhya Pradesh in July 2019.
The Chief Minister also paid respects on the birth anniversary of Rana Sanga, honoring the warrior king’s legacy of valor and patriotism. “His bravery will continue to irrigate the land of India with self-respect for centuries,” he posted on X.
In another address on Friday, CM Yogi highlighted the transformation of Kashi (Varanasi) over the last 11 years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Once known for its narrow lanes and congestion, the city has now evolved into a model of modern infrastructure infused with its sacred heritage. Over ₹50,000 crore has been invested in projects spanning health, education, tourism, and connectivity.
